Development and Peace Initiative Kaduna (DPI) is the development arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna and implements projects at the State and National levels. The organization otherwise known as JDPC was established in 1987 with the aim of promoting integral human development through Legal Aid/Human Rights Protection Skills Acquisition and Micro Credit Scheme, Peace Building & Emergency Response, Good Governance and Sustainable Agricultural Development Programme.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Our specific objectives:
- Promote Justice; give legal aid to the poor, the deprived and oppressed and to protect children, widows, the old and the vulnerable persons’ rights.
- Promote Christian Social teachings through enlightenment programs on Civic Church related, societal issues and the Church Annual Lenten Campaign for holistic human transformation.
- Promote gender sensitivity, educate and empower women and youth, encourage and enhance farming, good healthy living through integral urban and rural development.
- Provide relief in times of social, religious or political upheaval and natural disasters.
- Monitor and evaluate all programs/projects being implemented by parishes, deaneries and departments.
- Promote partnership & social collaborations with other NGO’s, government agency and international organizations who share similar aims and objectives towards achieving our overall goal.
- Get involved in democracy monitoring, legislative advocacy and socio-economic issues.
- To promote peaceful co-existence through conflict resolution processes by so doing, training identified leaders in peacebuilding and conflict prevention and management.
- Promoting human capital development through skills and entrepreneurship for the purpose of economic empowerment and self-reliance.
- Raise volunteers/animators who will be trained in carrying out the objectives of DPI at community and state levels.
